SUMMARY:Guest Artist Concert: DRAX with Megan Arns\, Percussion/FREE
DESCRIPTION:Megan Arns is a percussionist\, ethnomusicologist\, and educa
 tor on the music faculty at the University of Missouri in Columbia\, Misso
 uri\, and Interlochen Center for the Arts summer camp. She is an advocate 
 for the creation of new music\, and regularly performs with two contempora
 ry chamber groups: the [Switch~ Ensemble] – an electroacoustic ensemble 
 based out of New York\, and DRAX – a saxophone and percussion duo in-res
 idence at Mizzou.\n\nFormed in 2014\, DRAX is a faculty ensemble-in-reside
 nce at the University of Missouri School of Music with Leo Saguiguit (saxo
 phone) and Megan Arns (percussion). Dedicated to performing and creating n
 ew repertoire for this unique combination of instruments\, the duo made it
 s international debut at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg\, Fran
 ce. DRAX has performed at the Mizzou International Composers Festival\, co
 nferences of the North American Saxophone Alliance\, the Missouri Percussi
 ve Arts Society Day of Percussion\, Odyssey Chamber Music Series of Columb
 ia\, Missouri Contemporary Ballet\, and residencies at Virginia Tech Unive
 rsity and Sam Houston State University. Upcoming performances include Colo
 rado State University and the Percussive Arts Society International Conven
 tion\, as well as the release of their debut album on Ravello Records in N
 ovember 2022.
