 , Cello\n\nStep into an intimate soundscape where lyricism and texture int
 ertwine in unexpected ways. This program brings together the unique voices
  of oboe\, viola\, cello\, and piano. From the graceful elegance of Michae
 l Haydn\, to the contemplative and atmospheric writing of Hilary Tann\, to
  the lush Romantic richness of Josef Rheinberger\, the evening unfolds as 
 a tapestry of striking and contrasting colors.\n\nCeleste Johnson is Pro
 fessor of Oboe at the University of Missouri–Kansas City Conservatory\, 
 where she is an active performer\, pedagogue\, clinician\, and presenter. 
 Before moving to Kansas City\, she performed for eleven seasons as a membe
 r of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra. Her career has taken her across the glo
 be\, including teaching and performing appearances in Japan\, Colombia\, S
 witzerland\, the Isle of Man\, Canada\, and throughout the United States.\
 n\nProfessor Johnson continues to perform actively in a wide range of sett
 ings\, including solo\, concerto\, chamber\, and orchestral engagements. S
 he has released two recordings on the Equilibrium label. Her playing has b
 een recognized with top prizes at the Gillet and Barbirolli International 
 Oboe Competitions\, and she has earned fellowships to perform at renowned 
 festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center\, Aspen Music Festival\, Luc
 erne Festival Academy\, Sarasota Music Festival and the Kent/Blossom Music
  Festival\, among others.\n\nCeleste is an active and engaged member of t
 he professional music community\, having presented at conferences includin
 g the International Double Reed Society\, Midwest Double Reed Society\, an
 d a range of music education conferences throughout Texas\, Missouri\, and
  Oklahoma. She also serves as an Artistic Advisor for Summerfest\, contrib
 uting to the creative direction and programming of the Kansas City-based c
 hamber music series. Celeste holds degrees from the Eastman School of Mu
 sic and the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
