SUMMARY:CSU Trombone Choir Concert with Guest Artist David Jackson/FREE
DESCRIPTION:The CSU Trombone Studio presents an evening of music composed a
 nd arranged for trombone ensemble featuring guest artist David Jackson. Th
 is concert will showcase the full CSU Trombone Choir as well as the NoCo B
 ones\, which is a large trombone choir made up of both CSU students and ar
 ea high school trombonists. Jackson will perform as a soloist with both gr
 oups and perform solo works with piano. A wide variety of pieces will show
 case the amazing talents of David Jackson as well as the beauty and versat
 ility of the trombone ensemble.\n\nDavid Jackson\, professor of trombone a
 t the University of Michigan School of Music\, Theatre &amp\; Dance\, enjo
 ys an active career as a performer and teacher. He is a recognized and ard
 ent supporter of new music who has commissioned and premiered numerous com
 positions for the trombone including Angel of Dreamers\, by Eric Ewazen\, 
 for trombone\, baritone voice and strings\, and John Henry’s Big by Adol
 phus Hailstork for trombone and piano. Jackson has been a guest performer 
 with numerous orchestras\, including the Detroit Symphony\, Pittsburgh Sym
 phony\, Dallas Symphony\, Chicago Symphony\, Fort Worth Symphony\, Grand R
 apids Symphony\, New World Symphony\, as well as the Michigan Opera Theatr
 e and the Cabrillo Music Festival. He is a member of the Detroit Chamber W
 inds. \n\nIn demand as a guest clinician and performer\, Jackson has pres
 ented numerous guest recitals and master classes at institutions including
  the Juilliard School\, Yale University\, UCLA\, University of Minnesota\,
  the Cincinnati College-Conservatory as well as the conservatories of Shan
 ghai and Beijing. His former students occupy performing and teaching posit
 ions around the world. Jackson has been on the faculties of Baylor Univer
 sity\, Eastern Michigan University\, the University of Toledo\, the Interl
 ochen Arts Camp\, and the Idyllwild ChamberFest. He spends his summers tea
 ching and performing at the Brevard Music Center. Mr. Jackson is an S. E. 
 Shires artist and clinician.
