DESCRIPTION:Baroque Showcase\n\nWith Guest John McGuire\, Horn\n\nWith thre
 e varied pieces from the Baroque period\, the concert features both well-k
 nown and relatively unknown music. Written for King George I\, the premier
 e of George Frideric Handel's Water Music was performed by 50 musicians on
  a barge on the River Thames. The orchestra opens the concert with a chamb
 er version for strings and a few winds\, followed by Christoph Foster's Ho
 rn Concerto in E-flat featuring CSU Horn Professor Dr. John McGuire. Anoth
 er Water Music – a suite written by Forster's good friend\, Georg Philip
 p Telemann – was inspired by the River Elbe in Hamburg\, and concludes t
 he evening.
