DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an afternoon concert in celebration and comm
 emoration of the work and life of Dr. Gary Moody. This concert will be a t
 ime for the School of Music\, Theatre\, and Dance and Colorado State Unive
 rsity to honor all that Gary has given to the program over his 29-year car
 eer.\n\nWe invite alumni\, students\, colleagues\, and friends to help by 
 sending us pictures of Dr. Moody for a slideshow that will be presented du
 ring the concert. Please contact Copper Ferreira if you have an interest i
 n sharing your your photos\; a link to an electronic folder to which you c
 an add your own pictures and photographic memories will be provided.\n\nBe
 cause of the impact Dr. Moody had teaching oboe and bassoon for many years
 \, we invite his former applied students to join in a large double reed en
 semble (bassoon and oboe only) to perform at the concert as a final farewe
 ll to a dear teacher. There will be a brief rehearsal at 2 p.m. in the Ru
 nyan Rehearsal Hall for bassoon and oboe players who would like to perform
 —Dr. Rebecca Phillips is conducting. Concert black is not required\; ple

 cket.\nIn memory: Gary Edwin Moody\nGary Edwin Moody passed away Aug. 20\,
  from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident. He was 62 years old.\nGary
  was born on Aug. 21\, 1955\, in Delta\, to Elbridge and Billie (Cassell) 
 Moody. He graduated from Longmont High School in 1973 and went on to the U
 niversity of Northern Colorado where he obtained his bachelor’s degree i
 n 1978. Gary attended the University of Iowa where he got his master’s d
 egree and later continued his education by obtaining his doctorate also fr
 om University of Northern Colorado in 1995.\n\nOn Oct. 17\, 1987\, he marr
 ied Risë Ammerman in Denver.\n\nGary worked at the Vail Mountain School f
 or five years before joining the staff at Colorado State University where 
 he was a professor in the School of Music\, Theatre and Dance for 29 years
 . He was a member of the Des Moines Symphony\, the National Repertory Orch
 estra\, and the Orchestra of the Nico Milan Opera House in Cape Town\, Sou
 th Africa. From 1981 to 2008\, he was principal bassoon with the Breckenri
 dge Music Festival Orchestra. Gary was also an entrepreneur and in 1990 st
 arted a business\, GEM Woodwind Products.\n\nGary loved his family\, music
 \, teaching\, was an avid biker\, world traveler\, and lifelong learner.\n
 \nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\n\nGary is survived by his wife
  Risë\; his brother Rick (Christine) Moody\; his sister Rebecca (Jeff) Cl
 ark\; his brother-in-law Ravel (Sharon) Ammerman\; six nieces and nephews 
 and seven great-nieces and nephews.\n\nPrivate family services will be hel
 d.\n\nCremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memori
 al contributions can be made to the Gary and Risë Moody CSU Music Scholar
