Marjorie Moss is the Academic Support Coordinator for students majoring in Music, Theatre, and Dance.

Marjorie’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education with a minor in Spanish from the University of Arizona, a Master of Arts in English Composition and Literature from the University of North Texas, and a Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University.  Before joining the advising staff in the College of Liberal Arts, she worked as an undergraduate academic advisor in CSU’s College of Business. Additional CSU experiences include academic advising and outreach/support programming in the Center for Advising and Student Achievement (CASA); program coordination, success coaching, and student mentoring in the Office of Adult Learner and Veteran Services; and international student engagement programming with INTO CSU.  Prior to joining the CSU community, Marjorie spent four years working in public secondary education and two years working in marketing and communications.

Marjorie believes that the Liberal Arts disciplines provide students with a strong intellectual foundation for developing their identities, strengths, interests, and career goals. In her role as an Academic Support Coordinator, she enjoys listening to students’ stories and helping them navigate the challenges of higher education. Marjorie approaches advising as a dynamic, collaborative process and strives to empower students to create their own meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for growth.  Building relationships with students and colleagues is what she enjoys most about working in higher education.

Marjorie’s love for music and the performing arts began at an early age and continued throughout her secondary, post-secondary, and graduate school experiences. As an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona, she participated in the University Wind Ensemble (oboe), University Honor Choir, and Symphonic Choir. As a graduate student at the University of North Texas, she was in the A Cappella Choir, which provided a unique opportunity to participate in a chamber group.  Working with students in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance allows her to combine her love of the performing arts with her passion for college student development. Outside of work, Marjorie enjoys hiking, traveling, singing in the Larimer Chorale, and watching Downton Abbey (a recent obsession!). Most of all, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
